"This new game system bridges the gap in gaming experiences for the tween boy who has graduated from traditional plug & play games but is not quite ready for the mature content and expense of high-end video game consoles. HyperScan gives them another option, offering kids an entirely new way to play collector card games and video games in one, with age-appropriate content. HOW IT WORKS - SCAN, BATTLE, RE-SCAN
Players can bring their favorite characters to life on the screen by scanning their cards over the HyperScan console. In the CD-ROM play mode they can pause the game and scan their collectibles to modify their battle skills and increase character-specific performance. Once the battle is won players need to rescan the cards in order to record their new abilities on their Intellicard. When they enter the game next time the abilities and the performance statistics are taken from the card directly. The HyperScan collectible cards are distributed on a random basis (aka rarity scheme) and the players won’t know the contents of a game pack before opening it to make collecting a more exiting and motivating activity.
